As the world strives to meet the Paris Agreement targets, COP30 represents a critical moment for global climate action. The summit could shape the policies that determine our planet’s future. 

Along the banks of the sacred river Ganges, a thousand discarded refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, and phones are carried downstream. Waters revered for purity and renewal now carry the weight of charred circuit boards, tangled wires, and shattered motherboards. It is a stark portrait of India’s reality as the world’s third-largest producer of electronic waste, generating more than 3.4 million tonnes each year. 

Earlier this September, our Head of Growth, Morag Dine, attended Sustainability LIVE in London, a two-day event dedicated to accelerating sustainable business practices. With thought leaders and experts from across global industries, the event emphasised the importance of sustainability for businesses to stay competitive, resilient, and to achieve long-term growth.

Ensuring that global warming does not exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels is widely accepted as the target to mitigate the effects of climate change.

Sustainability can be defined as “the development that meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
