We Have Partnered with One Tree Planted

We plant trees!

Component Sense is delighted to announce its new partnership with One Tree Planted.

Founded in 2014, One Tree Planted is a non-profit organisation, based in the US. They work with amazing reforestation projects around the world, providing the financial support needed to plant more trees and protect the environment.

How it works?

One Tree Planted collects donations for each of its projects and sends the funds to its respective reforestation partners. All reforestation partners are vetted to ensure they maintain a tree survival rate of 80-90%.

Depending on the project, the reforestation partners select the best tree species to plant, and they work with local communities to get the trees in the ground. Planting typically happens during the rainy season, when the soil is wet and provides optimal conditions for tree survival.

The Component Sense Pledge

At Component Sense, our mission is to lead electronic manufacturers towards zero component waste, by preventing components from becoming scrap and keeping them out of toxic landfill sites which harm the environment. We are already actively working with 2.2 billion new and unused surplus electronic components, ensuring that they go on to be used for their original intended purpose, creating a more circular economy in the process.

But we want to go further than that.

That's why from today, marking the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, we pledge to plant one tree for every customer order placed with us.

Why are trees so important to the environment?

Trees help to clean the air we breathe, they filter the water we drink, and they provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s biodiversity. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in one quarter of all medicines. Have you ever taken an Aspirin? It comes from the bark of a tree! The following six pillars summarise why trees are so vital:

  • Air
  • Water
  • Biodiversity
  • Climate Regulation
  • Health
  • Social Impact
